Order a VPS

Connect Claude

Paste your server's connector URL into the Claude app under Connectors, then enter the passcode from your portal.

"Build a site for my church and publish it." Claude writes the code, installs what it needs, and puts it live on your server.

Questions

What can Claude actually do on the server?
Anything root can. It runs shell commands, installs packages, edits files, sets up databases and background services, and configures the web server. Your server comes with Caddy, which handles HTTPS certificates automatically, so whatever Claude publishes is live on a secure address right away.
Which Claude plans does this work with?
Any plan that supports custom connectors, which includes Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. The Free plan allows one custom connector. It works in the Claude desktop app, on claude.ai, in the mobile apps, and in Claude Code. On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization owner adds the connector.
Is it safe to give Claude root access?
It's your own isolated VPS, so nothing Claude does can reach other customers. Sign-in uses OAuth with a passcode only you can generate in the portal, and you can disconnect every Claude session at any time. Claude can still break or delete things on your server, though, so we recommend the backups add-on for anything you care about.
Do I need my own domain?
No. Every connected VPS gets its own secure address, like claude-1234.missionhost.org, and anything Claude publishes there is live immediately. To use your own domain, point it at your VPS's IP and ask Claude to set it up.
Can I turn it on for a VPS I already have?
Yes, if the plan has at least 2GB of RAM. Open My Services in the portal and click Connect Claude. Smaller plans can upgrade first.
Does this include a Claude subscription?
No. You use your own Claude account. Mission Host provides the server and the connector, not access to Claude.
